How Our Plywood Calculators Work

1

Select Your Plywood Specs

Choose your core material (Acacia, Eucalyptus, Styrax, or enter a custom density), panel size (1220×2440, 1250×2500, or cut sizes), and thickness.

2

Get Instant Results

Our calculators use real factory specifications to compute CBM, weight, sheets per pallet, bundles per container, and even price per piece or per CBM.

3

Plan Your Order

Use the results to optimize your container loading, compare container sizes, and request precise quotations from Vinawood for your specific needs.

Why Use Vinawood's Plywood Calculators?

🏭 Factory-Accurate Data

Our calculations use the same formulas and density values we apply in our actual production facility. Unlike generic calculators, these tools account for real-world factors like maximum pallet stack height (900mm), bundle weight limits (1,760 kg), and optimal rounding to nearest 5 sheets.

🌍 Built for International Trade

Whether you're importing plywood to the USA, Canada, India, Middle East, or Europe, our tools calculate loading for standard 20ft, 40ft, 40HC containers, and flatbed trucks. Supports both metric and imperial units.

💰 Pricing Conversion

The CBM calculator includes built-in price/CBM ↔ price/piece conversion, essential for comparing quotes from different suppliers who may price by volume or by piece.

🔧 Custom Density Support

Beyond our standard core materials (Acacia 580 kg/m³, Eucalyptus 650 kg/m³, Styrax 500 kg/m³), you can enter any custom density value to calculate for your specific wood species or supplier specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many plywood sheets fit in a 40HC container?+

It depends on the thickness, panel size, core material density, and pallet configuration. For example, with 18mm Acacia core (580 kg/m³) at 1220×2440mm with 16 pallets, you can load approximately 800 sheets. Use our Container Packing Calculator for exact figures across all thicknesses.

How do I calculate CBM for plywood?+

CBM (Cubic Meters) = Width (m) × Length (m) × Thickness (m). For a standard 1220×2440×18mm sheet: 1.22 × 2.44 × 0.018 = 0.053582 m³. Our CBM Calculator does this instantly and also shows pieces per CBM, weight, area, and pricing.

What is the density of plywood?+

Plywood density varies by core material. Common Vietnam plywood densities: Styrax (500 kg/m³), Acacia (580 kg/m³), Eucalyptus (650 kg/m³). Mixed cores have intermediate densities. You can also enter a custom density in all our calculators to match your specific product.

How do I convert price per piece to price per CBM?+

Price/CBM = Price/Piece × Pieces per CBM. For example, if a 18mm sheet costs $8 and there are 18.67 pieces per CBM, then the price per CBM = $8 × 18.67 = $149.36/CBM. Our CBM Calculator handles this conversion automatically in both directions.

What containers are used for shipping plywood?+

The most common is the 40ft High Cube (40HC) with 28.5 MT max payload and up to 18 pallet positions. 20ft containers (20 MT, 8 pallets) and standard 40ft containers (25.5 MT, 16 pallets) are also used. Flatbed trucks carry up to 21 MT with 16 pallet positions. Compare all options with our Loading Calculator.
